WHITCHURCH [CARDIFF] CAMERA CLUB
(Formally Whitchurch Camera Club)
Want to join us?
So, you think you might like to join us? Fantastic! It probably won’t surprise you if I say most people who are thinking of becoming a member ask very similar questions. We try to answer the more obvious ones here. If you still have questions please feel free to email our secretary.
Who can join?
Anyone adult is welcome to join and come to our meetings. We don’t care what camera you use or how long you’ve been taking photographs. All we ask that you have a love of photography and wish to join a friendly, growing community of like minded people who all enjoy taking photographs.
When & Where do we meet?
We meet on Tuesday evenings from 7.00 - 8.30pm in the main hall of Whitchurch Community Centre [ Old Church Road, Whitchurch, Cardifff, CF14 1AD]
What kind of welcome can you expect?
When you first come to meetings you won’t be made to feel like an outsider. You’ll have people come over and talk to you and make you feel welcome. This is not because we've asked them to, but because they want to. We’re a friendly bunch and like to make guests feel welcome.
You won’t be pressured into deciding if you're going to join straight away and anyone who is thinking of becoming a member can visit us 3 times at no charge, before they need to make their mind up. If you do decide to join us you’ll be asked to fill in a short membership form for our records. The details you enter are kept electronically within a database held on the club’s Google account to which only a couple of committee members have access.
Your first 3 guest visits are a free trial. When you become a member we ask for £2 for each meeting you attend. Everyone pays that weekly fee from the newest member all the way up to the Chairman & Treasurer.
Our new season starts in September and we’ve got a great line-up of speakers, tutorials, demonstrations, visits & lots of amazing photographs. As well as holding weekly meetings [you can see the latest programme from the home page] we regularly organise trips out to local events, places of interest and destinations farther afield.
What does it cost for yearly membership?
The annual membership runs from September every year. The cost of joining the club for a year is £30 payable in September. Part year membership is available for anyone joining January or later at £20.
We also ask for £2 for every meeting you attend. The membership and attendance fees are used to pay for the accommodation, membership of Welsh Photographic Federation, speaker expenses, etc. These fees are correct at September 2021.
Non members are welcome to attend presentations from guest speakers at a session rate of £5 each including refreshment
